During this spring’s Motor Valley Fest in Modena, Maserati announced the retirement of the V8 Twin Turbo engine currently powering the Levante, Ghibli and Quattroporte in their Trofeo trims. In the past 60 years, Maserati has produced over 100,000 machines with the iconic V8 engine. The legendary 572-horsepower 90° Twin Turbo V8 power plant will officially end production at the Maserati factory beginning late 2023 but will remain available for purchase into 2024. The last editions of the Maserati Trofeo product line, the Ghibli 334 Ultima and the Levante V8 Ultima, will be unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. These impeccably built Ultima models are likely to become a most desirable item for collectors.

This historic moment for the Trident is a nod to modern times and changing trends as they also celebrated the design, production and release of the GranTurismo Folgore – the first 100% electric car in the brand’s history – and the Maserati Grecale Folgore –the brand’s first fully-electric SUV. The entire Maserati line up will be available in a fully electric trim by 2025.
